Overview
SBSeg will take place in the Social Sciences' Teaching Activities Center (Centro de Atividades Didáticas de Ciências Humanas - CAD 2) at Federal University of Minas Gerais (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG).
UFMG has over 50,000 students and offers more than 300 courses. UFMG's Computer Science undergraduate and graduate courses figures at the topest level among the Brazilian ones according to the Brazilian Ministry of Education. Notably, in the national cenario, UFMG's CS graduate course performs best conforming to a number of criteria. Globally, its scientific production follows the same pattern of the best graduate programs in the world.
UFMG is located in Belo Horizonte, a strong candidate to become Brazil’s Silicon Valley. For instance, the capital of Minas Gerais State hosts research centers such as Google's LatAm R&D center, Cadence Design Systems' engineering center, and Embraer's research lab. Besides, the city is home of San Pedro's Valley, one of the largest breeding ground for Brazilian startups.
